Before you call
A few simple things to check.
If you are comfortable doing so, start with the controls you normally use. Leave repairs and internal equipment work to a qualified professional.

Start safely
Observe first.
Keep it simple.
If you suspect gas, carbon monoxide, smoke, or fire, leave the area and contact emergency services from a safe location. Don’t troubleshoot or wait for a website reply.
- Check that the thermostat is set to the heating or cooling mode you intend to use.
- Look at the set temperature, schedule, display, and any low-battery message.
- Check the filter according to your equipment’s normal user instructions.
- Make a note of any error messages, unusual sounds, water, or recent changes to share with HYPE.
Don’t open electrical panels or equipment covers, work on refrigerant or gas components, or repeatedly reset a system that trips or shuts itself down.
When you are unsure, stop and call (859) 203-8584.
